Reel Gardening has been specifically designed to enable impoverished communities lacking in water and education. Reel Gardening therefore has a strong focus on both School and Community Garden solutions.

Reel Gardening has developed a 100m2 ( 10m x 10m) module that can be duplicated over time to fill up a dedicated area creating a sustainable, holistic food security alternative which empowers the beneficiaries by enabling them to plant the garden perfectly themselves and with Reel Gardening saving 80% of water during the germination phase, the communities can take care of the garden without worrying about exorbitant water usage.

Reel Gardening offers this approach for corporates , CSI initiative Government funded projects or NGO partnerships.

Lets start a planting revolution

The Independent development trust appointed Reel Gardening to implement a number of school gardens throughout the country. Each school garden implementation consisted of Reel Gardening training the selected staff, pupils, parents and community members on how to start, maintain and harvest a garden.

Reel Gardening assisted with the initial implementation and has now begun revisiting the schools and communities to report on progress and help with correcting any problems with the Garden. Matsiri Primary school in Limpopo was an exceptional example of how, if properly cared for, a garden can provide both food and a source of income as the school was able to sell their excess tomatoes to the local community for R1900 !
